SUMMARY:America250 Alabama Cemetery Cleanup and Documentation/Global Youth Service Month Activity
DESCRIPTION:Youth from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Wetumpka\, Alabama will work alongside the Elmore County Historical Society to clean up the Wetumpka City Cemetery. Youth will cut vines\, clear weeds\, and clean up headstones. Additionally\, some markers will be documented in the Billiongraves website. This service to the cemetery will help prepare the cemetery for the Historical Society’s Cemetery Tour on May 9th\, when citizens can come learn the history of some members of the community who helped shape Elmore County. This is the 3rd year that the church has served alongside the ECHS to clean up Wetumpka cemeteries.
