2026 Alabama State Games

The Opening Ceremony will honer Native Americans and/or descendants of Native Americans, active and retired military members and their descendants, as well as descendants of individuals who served in any past American War or conflict; and Individuals who have contributed to the socio-economic welfare of Alabama and the United States.

The Alabama State Games return to Birmingham and Jefferson County for the annual statewide Olympic-style competition. The games, which annually attract athletes from throughout the state to compete in 27 different sports, will be June 12-14, 2026. Opening ceremonies will be held at Legacy Arena at the BJCC.

The Alabama State Games were established in 1982 at the request of the United States Olympic Committee to develop Olympics Style Games for the citizens of Alabama.
