Heather Leigh art

About the Artist:

The Brush Made Me Do It

“I am an Alabama native from a family of artists. I discovered my love for painting at an early age but didn’t pursue it until later in life. I find joy in creating beauty out of a blank canvas and paying attention to shadows and highlights. My inspiration comes from contemporary impressionism and I am also inspired by abstract art.

Outside of my art, I’m a daughter, sister, wife, mom, and dog mom. Painting is not only my passion but also a form of self-care and relaxation in my busy life. I’m grateful to my family, friends, and customers for encouraging me to pursue my love for painting and helping me to share my art with the world.”

From peaceful farmland and whimsical animals to sacred nativity scenes and local landmarks, my work seeks to capture the wonder of the world around us. My art has been featured in galleries, museums, and shops across North Alabama, including University Pickers, Harrison Brothers Hardware, and Alabama Goods (Huntsville, Homewood, and Hoover), as well as through my online studio at www.LexieAustinArt.com.”
