Interfaith Prayer Walk

May 7 @ 8:00 am 10:00 am

In honor of the 75th anniversary of the National Day of Prayer in 2026, American Village in Montevallo will host an Interfaith Prayer Walk on Thursday, May 7. This special event is free and open to the public.

Guests are invited to walk the campus together, pausing at meaningful historic locations for guided prayers led by local faith leaders. Each stop reflects a different aspect of our nation and those who serve it.

We will begin with an opening prayer in Liberty Hall.

Along the route:

  • A Military Veteran will offer prayers for the U.S. Armed Forces, the Alabama National Guard, and our veterans at the National Veterans Shrine
  • Prayers for churches and clergy will be shared at the Colonial Chapel
  • At Washington Hall, clergy will lead prayers for the President, Governor, and executive leadership
  • At Independence Hall, prayers will focus on Congress and Alabama’s Legislature
  • At the Colonial Courthouse, the focus will be on the nation’s judiciary
  • At the Concord Bridge, prayers will be offered for law enforcement, firemen, and first responders by a law enforcement chaplain.
  • The walk will conclude at the statue of George Washington in prayer along the Freedom Trail, with a final prayer for the American people

This guided walk will take place from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. and will involve moderate walking across campus. Guests are encouraged to wear comfortable clothing and walking shoes.
