American Village Celebrates the Army’s 250th Birthday

Open 10am to 4pm. Army’s Birthday Ceremony is at 10:30am, followed at 11am by a celebration of Flag Day.
The United States Army has its roots in the Continental Army, formed in 1775 to fight for independence during the American Revolution.
The American Village in Montevallo celebrates the 250th Birthday of the United States Army on June 14th with a cake-cutting ceremony and other special events, including music, food and an Army encampment.
The U.S. Army’s birthday cake-cutting ceremony is a time-honored tradition that symbolizes the Army’s rich history and the passing of experience from one generation to the next. Come take part in the ceremony, and enjoy birthday cake with our Army veterans!
